  • JP20K13089, Developing Teaching Materials for Conversation Education with an Awareness of Interactions, This study developed Japanese language teaching materials to enhance learners' oral expression skills and help them converse by being aware of their interactions with others. First, the researchers collected “information-gathering discourse” (such as interviews, consultations, or first meetings), which learners of Japanese encounter in real life, and analyzed discourse development and attitude toward participation, interaction and so on to clarify the characteristics of discourse development in native Japanese speakers and Japanese language learners. Then, based on the analysis results, the researchers developed original teaching materials for Japanese conversation education and used them in real classes. Furthermore, the researchers analyzed what the students learned from this practice and verified the effectiveness of the teaching materials and classroom activities.
