Considering the whole pattern that individuals accesses social structures as the life structure, we grasped the present conditions of population reproduction, family stability, life network and life stability, targeting remote islands (such as Isen Town on Tokunoshima) where living conditions are not favorable. By grasping the life structure of this depopulated area, we reconstructed the model of the community to maintain and reproduce.

19H01562, Presenting a model of a society with declining population by analyzing the relationship between depopulated areas and local cities based on life structure theory., This study conducted a regional life structure analysis as a methodology to comprehensively understand the life structure of depopulated area residents and local city residents, and based on the results of a social survey conducted in the Tamagawa district of Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture in FY2021, presented a model for maintaining local communities in a society with a declining population. The results revealed that depopulated elderly people are strongly dependent on their spouses and children, and that other children living in close proximity are particularly expected to respond to emergencies, such as taking care of elderly people when they themselves are hospitalized. Based on these findings, the relationship between depopulated areas and local cities, which is formed from the relationship between households and families and supported by daily mobility, is presented as a model for maintaining depopulated areas.

JP20H01575, A Composition of Rural Sociology from the Perspectives of Nature, Agriculture, Food and Family life in a Post-agricultural Society, The term “post-agricultural society” refers to the era after the 1980s when agricultural production and the consumption of agricultural products by urban consumers became disconnected. In this study, we attempted to understand the formation of human relationships in rural areas under these circumstances, and by analyzing their meaning from the three aspects of food, agriculture, and nature, we tried to gain a perspective for constructing a new sociology of agriculture. As a result, we clarified the social formation between young people who are interested in agriculture and heading towards farming and mountain villages and the local residents, the precariousness associated with the environmentalization of the rural environment, and the role of modern farmers as protectors of water, and announced these as research results.
