A study on the functions of local communities in community, Sakuma Yasutomi;Tsutsui Kazunobu;Kasami Kazuo;Yusa Toshihiko, JOURNAL OF THE HOUSING RESEARCH FOUNDATION "JUSOKEN", 43, 0, 103, 114, 2017, Housing Research Foundation, This study pointed out the following four functions of local communities in community development using vacant houses in rural Japan. The first is researching the distribution and condition of vacant houses. The second is sharing information with the local government. The third is acting as a mediator between the vacant houses and immigrants, and the fourth is supporting the community life of migrants.
The current state of migration to rural areas and transition of migrant needs, KASAMI Kazuo, The Japanese Journal of Real Estate Sciences, 32, 2, 91, 97, 28 Sep. 2018, Japan Association for Real Estate Sciences, The situation of the internal migrationto rural areas has greatly changed in several years. There was the change of the measure of the government regional revigoration, too, and the number of young migration applicants in particular increased; half of the consultation cases for migration are from 20-30 year-old groups. In addition, dual habitation needs gradually decreases, and a person for the domiciliation to the district is most. The number of migration applicants increased, and short supply in housing occurred, especially in lease properties. To meet such housing needs, several local municipalities have launched vacant house banks, but the search for vacant house is still difficult. When promoting migration to rural areas, the shortage in housing is crucial issue. Communitybased approach to empty property owners is required as well as administration-based approach. In addition to existing local communities, new types of community such as NPO community would take its leading part for the issue.

JP21K20195, A Study of Childhood Local Experiences in the Migration Decision Process of Grandchildren Migrating, I conducted an interview survey of practicing migrants and municipalities to examine the typology and characteristics of the actual situation of grandchildren-turn migration. Note that the term “grandson-turn” has not yet been generalized, and the actual situation has not yet been fully confirmed.;The survey revealed that the total length of stay was important, not the frequency of childhood visits. Involvement of grandparents and parents in the migration decision process was not seen to be significant, and most of the respondents made the decision of their own volition. The barriers to migration, such as housing, work, and community relations, were not a problem due to the presence of local ties. We also found that support measures were initiated by one municipality and then spread to other municipalities.
JP20H01395, Study on developing a model of social solidarity economy based on Regional Management Organizations in Rural Japan, The social and solidarity economy, which is being developed in France, is useful in considering the community business by the regional management organizations and other local actors in rural Japan. First, this reserch project clarified the industrial agglomeration and the creation of value chains through the social solidarity economy in rural France. Furthermore, we revealed processes in which various local actors such as regional management organizations, small traditional villages, profit-oriented organizations on area management and companies on creating shared value (CSV) to engage in the community business of rural Japan. Finally, we discussed the possibility of re-valuing unused residential and agricultural land as local resources, and the possibility of the community business building a new regional economic scheme that differs from the neoliberal economy.
JP18H01606, Research on the construction of small social system for succeeding to the rural community, focusing on the gradation of residential succession, This study focuses on the issue of how a small numbers of community members can pass on the village to the next generation. We defined "livelihood succession" as an activity in which various supporters try to pass on the community to the next generation. We clarified the following.;The factors of livelihood succession are effective in making tangible what is to be succeeded to. It is effective to have a third person present and to make trust visible in terms of the method. It is important to build relationships within and outside the community with a focus on the community itself. As a result, a society in which even a small number of people can continue to live in the community can be expected. These discussions were published in the book, "Creating a Region that Can Survive with a Small Number of Communities" (Gakugei Shuppansha, March 2023).
